Reviews for Watermark

A very lovely place with a great selection of fresh food (vegan options available!) with friendly staff and a nice local vibe that you can appreciate even as a tourist. Clean and safe with hot fresh food and a nice selection - can’t go wrong! Oh and it’s right on the lake!

We live localish and do a short loop walk usually on a Sunday morning stopping halfway at the cafe upon opening before the crowds get there. The pasties are the best I’ve tasted, absolute quality and apart from servicing the dogs walking needs this our main reason for a visit. When it’s busy it can be slow, I don’t think it’s geared up for a large influx of visitors. But its 5 stars when I’m there first thing.

After a long day of hiking we stopped by Carsington water hoping to hire a row boat but we were too knackered so we just sat by the water with a bite to eat instead. I wasn't expecting much in the way of vegan food but was surprised to see vegan options being offered in a small cafe like this! Vegan sausage roll was lovely. There was also a burger, ice cream, and even some vegan friendly cakes of offer. Great food with beautiful views.
