last summer while i was in the area working and had avery nice meal on two separate occasions and both nights the food was excellent (had the red lion burger 1st night and a meatfeast the next) both of which were absolutely delicious. Now i was down again before Christmas and had the meatfeast pizza and it was fantastic but on the second night i had the red lion burger ?? it was absolutely disgusting i can only assume you had a child cooking that night as it was greasy tasted totally different to the one I'd had before and they didn't seem to care either. Won't be calling back in again

The red lion at chumleigh ,was OK for a meal if your really hungry, food was not the best but definitely edible ,can't tell you what the rooms were like as we only went for a meal .Walkability: It was only a mile from the cottage we were staying at .

Went in for a takeaway and it was so nice. Scampi and chips but i asked the chef, tasha, if i could have a salad instead of peas and she kindly obliged. It was just what i needed after a long day at work. The hunters chicken burger was perfect for my partner. We will return for more of tashas cooking soon.

We were very pleasantly surprised by how good The Red Lion is. Firstly it is much larger than we realised and they even had a function running. The food all round was excellent and really good value for money All of the staff we very friendly Definitely worth a visit and you won’t be disappointed. It’s a really good village pub
Good menu to eat in or take away .pizza particularly good. Staff friendly and excellent service. Dog friendly
