We were very pleasantly surprised by how good The Red Lion is. Firstly it is much larger than we realised and they even had a function running. The food all round was excellent and really good value for money All of the staff we very friendly Definitely worth a visit and you won’t be disappointed. It’s a really good village pub
Walked in on the off-chance after long journey to rural campsite, on Good Friday.It was busy but staff very welcoming. Got us a table right in the thick of it where you wanna be on a Friday night. Live music was great foot stamping stuff, menu brilliant, I could've eaten all of it, food was delicious, beer was perfect, overall superb atmosphere.A pleasure to find a real country pub still exists and hasn't gone all "gastro" but stuck to it's roots and has a friendly local crowd...read full review

Went in for a takeaway and it was so nice. Scampi and chips but i asked the chef, tasha, if i could have a salad instead of peas and she kindly obliged. It was just what i needed after a long day at work. The hunters chicken burger was perfect for my partner. We will return for more of tashas cooking soon.
