As a pub it's brilliant but food was disappointing... had smoked salmon started .. was a bit of salmon placed on a piece sliced loaf bread ... .main was a lamb shank ... meat was so dry .. mash and veg was fine but the whole thing was covered with a pint of something black split with oil... apparently it was supposed to be red wine saucePub brilliant Food a no no

Went here for Sunday lunch as family , 7 adults and 3 kids, whilst staying in Dartmouth for week. Had prebooked from home after researching where to go for Sunday lunch The choice was limited just Beef or Lamb but both were excellent with plenty of meat and vegs. They were good enough also do do sausage for two of the kids. Meals were very good size and excellent value. The beer is vey pricey as is all the pubs in Dartmouth but was a good choice of real ales. Visited for an evening meal as place was recommended by a friend. Booked a table for two at 7.30pm & arrived around 7.15pm Checked in with bar staff who rang upstairs to advise staff of our arrival. She informed us they were ready for us immediately so proceeded upstairs. As we entered the upper dining area we heard one of the kitchen girls taking the mickey out of my name which I thought was a little unprofessional.
