Perfect location at Exeter Cathedral Green with the usual welcoming staff and prompt recognition and seating. An informal dinner with friends/colleagues and we opted for the 1917 menu with accompanying glasses of wine. The service was excellent, as was the food, so, our evening met the expected high standards of The Ivy Exeter - looking forward to our return, which might be breakfast this weekend!
We get together once a year between Christmas and the new year for dinner and this year chose the Ivy. My duck pate was absolutely delicious but unfortunately came with the most boring piece of white toast cut from corner to corner. The rest of the table enjoyed home made bread which they said was delicious. So disappointing. My duck salad as a main was lovely and I enjoyed that as well. Booked the Ivy for a surprise engagement and it didn’t disappoint. Leah the maitre de, was lovely as were the rest of the staff. I think our waitress was Martha, all great. The steak was fabtastic and the drinks. Thank you to The Ivy Exeter team. …..oh and she said yes. Jonathan
