I always go in sceptical when I find out somewhere I run by a religious group / following, to my own detriment. I was, however; really pleasantly surprised by the experience we’ve just had for an afternoon lunch. Something really different and truly special! Great wholesome food, sincerely friendly staff. Incredible interior with lots of wood and craftsman ironmongery detail. Lots of things to buy made by other communities, including the only natural toothpaste I was able to find in Honiton that actually contained xylitol - I didn't expect to see that in a café! Unique atmosphere and surprised to discover it in a small town in Devon! Although their sandwich selection was American esque, their service, unfortunately, was not. When I asked if I could substitute turkey that comes in the sandwich for avocado, the server informed me it would be an extra charge. Disappointing given a like for like substitution should have been a reasonable request. Otherwise, I loved their menu and how it reminded me of being back home in the US.
