We were well received and warmly welcomed (mainly to make us aware of the steps into the building from the rear entrance). We were forewarned that the meals were hearty so did not have a starter. Scampi (with a half portion of chips); Liver and Bacon with veg and new potatoes and a Crispy Chilli Beef with Rice were ordered. Called in for a drink and a meal on our way back from RHS Rosemoor. We received a friendly welcome and ordered drinks whilst perusing the menu. We both went for different meals from the specials board which were very nice. The pub has a good atmosphere and friendly staff, will definitely use it again.

Very warm welcome by the great barman, good choice of food and served in good time.All three of us didn't have anything to complain about the food, 3 clean plates sent back to the kitchen. Barman kept a eye on us but not over intrusive. All around a very good evening was had by all.
