Was passing through Sunday 24th March after a long day of driving and came across this pub on our maps. We wanted a little break so decided to give this place ago. What an treasure of a place!! The minute we walked in it was the most welcoming atmosphere. We were able to order food which I was worried about as most places require bookings but they immediately set a table for us and came and took our order. What a lovely place in a picturesque setting. From the initial welcome we were made to feel right at home. The staff were brilliant and very helpful. We had the Sunday lunch which was great value and delicious. Top marks for the cauliflower cheese! ? Really enjoyed our visit and will be going back.
Arguably the best pub/restaurant in Dorset, for service, for atmosphere and most importantly quality of food and drinks.When you arrive at the Saxons Arms you are always greated with a warm welcoming reception, the staff, without exception, are polite, courteous and nothing is to much trouble for them to accommodate.The Saxons is always well attended, so I'd say booking ahead is always a good idea, this leads to a great atmosphere when eating and drinking here.Now the food, I...read full review
