We had a drink here once before and the staff were so friendly so decided to return to eat. We received a warm welcome from Tom as we arrived. Dog friendly also helped. Tom who was serving was friendly and really helpful. He even suggested we take a seat and he’d bring over my Guinness once it was ready. Nice touch!! Popped in this evening with the hubby for some food and drinks. The food was fantastic, hot and came out really quick, even though it was busy. The hospitality was second to none, it’s not often you go to a pub and have such friendly conversation. The young man behind the bar (think he was the manager) was so chatty and accommodating. Would love to visit again, but only in the area for a flying visit. I will definitely recommend to friends and visitors in the area, great night!

I went to The Rope and Anchor last Friday and the whole experience was immaculate. Despite being the only server behind the bar, the staff member on shift was excellent and made every effort to make sure customers were happy. I think his name was Tom. I was still able to get served quickly and Tom was funny and attentive. Would recommend this bar to anyone visiting Poole, or anyone in Poole that has never ventured into this bar.
