Live just a few miles from the Chequers but incredibly this was our first time there. Had no idea what we were missing! Dropped in with our dog on the way back from Wareham for lunch as we had heard good things. Shared a one-person nachos to start, I had a sandwich and husband had ham, egg and chips. This was an ad hoc visit, we hadn't had breakfast, and time was pressing. So we thought we would try somewhere we hadn't visited before. We are so glad we did. We were welcomed from the minute we entered. It was fairly busy at 230 ISH the tables were well spaced out so COVID complyaint it is family friendly we went for some good old plain food which arrived promptly and piping hot. Meal for 14 on Friday night. Staff and service were great, especially as we were a large group. Food was excellent. We had asked for a couple of dishes to be adapted slightly which they did. I recommend the bass fillet. It's easy to get fish wrong but it was cooked to perfection.We had a great evening.
