Pubs in Consett
“My first time today for a Sunday dinner. And, WOW, what a superb dinner it was. Warm welcome, and, well looked after by Louise. Had the pork option, beautifully tender, amazing mash and simply great food. The apple pie and custard to follow was delicious. Will certainly visit again. Would recommend booking, I was fortunate today to get a table.”
“Lived in the area for almost 2 years but hadn’t been.. came midweek (no booking) got our table really quickly.. Food was lovely and will definitely be returning.. Homemade chips are absolutely lush!”
“They tried to kill us with grenades! Wife had to get her mam to pick her up, I ate valentines curry alone. Proper pub”
“First time here for a Sunday lunch, amazing starter of chicken goujons, then I went for the chicken dinner, only thing lacking was the amount of chicken, it wasn't even a full breast of it, it was half, it tasted great and everything else on the plate was amazing, just the amount of meat, everyone else in the party got beef and there was plenty of this on their plates, just an observation provide a full chicken breast for a Sunday lunch not half of one lol.The pudding was incredible, toffee crunch pie with cream to round it off. Really good prices and a lovely traditional pub feel in the inside, will definitely go back but get beef next time lol.Parking: Was difficult to find parking spot, may need to park on side streets near the pub”
“Not been here for years as we’ve lived abroad. From moment we walked in we were greeted so friendly. Lovely atmosphere and Will definitely return.”

“Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere in this well stocked real ale pub. Attached to the Consett Real Ale Works Micro-Brewery, you have a great choice of some excellent ales to suit all tastes.....and at fantastic low prices.Thursday nights offer 'street food' with a different vendor (pizza, Greek, Thai, Indian, etc.) taking turns to park right outside the doors. Buy from them what you want and eat it in the pub....or at the tables outside if sunny weather.A real oasis of a dog-friendly pub and well worth a visit!”
