This place in an alley in the city center of Darlington is a jewel! We ordered a bottle of wine and then ordered the 3 meat/3 cheese tray with extra walnuts. To find out the chutney is made by the owner's mother and the owner herself pickles all the vegetables was huge plus! The choices of local meats and cheese rounded out a delightful evening. We WILL be back!

An absolute GEM in the heart of Darlo! This place is amazing. Cosy and intimate with lots of lovely candles. The staff are fantastic - friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about their products. The sharing boards are gorgeous - a great selection of meats and cheeses but also lots of chutneys, pickles and other ‘bits’ to go with them. After also eating at other similar venues in Leeds (Friends of Ham) - they do not come anywhere close to Sortie! I cannot recommend this place enough! If you like cheese and charcuterie you HAVE to visit. You won’t be disappointed.

We had a lovely evening celebrating a family birthday. We enjoyed the delights of a couple of Full Board sharing platters. Everything was tasty and of high quality. The advice from the knowledgeable staff was extremely helpful , they were all welcoming, friendly and professional. The wines we selected were very good and good value, cocktails ordered were excellent too. The restaurant has a cosy atmosphere. We’re looking forward to our next visit. ?????

First visit, but will definitely be back. The cheese and meat sharing board was superb with a tasty and interesting selection accompanied by homemade chutney and hummus, nuts and fruit and sourdough and crackers. Staff friendly and knowledgeable about the artisan meat, cheeses and antipasti on offer.
