“Come often for Sunday Carvery, always enjoyable, the food is great and filling. Just need a couple more people on the bar, and plate sizes are weird, often we'll order a mixture of standard and large carvery but the plates are small for large and large for standard, there should be a separate pile of large and standard plates”

“So, this is a small restaurant in new college Durham. Where students prepare food, serve and generally run the restaurant in order to learn how this is done, great idea i feel. We were served the fine dining menu which was 6 courses, appropriatley portioned to be just right. The staff were great from start to finish, attentive , not overbearing and efficient. The food was well presented and prepared, ingredients paired well and it tasted great. I will return again and again if for no other reason than this restaurant is an amazing resource for the students at the college and needs to continue being supported, the fact that the food was great too, is simply the cherry on the top.”

“Loved this place! Service excellent, very tasty Stinky Stilton Scone and a moist, delicious Carrot Cake. Coffee was OK too :-) Five stars because the food was super, the service excellent, prices very fair, the courtyard beautiful and I'd certainly go again or recommend!”

“This is a lovely, small, and dog friendly pub in a beautiful part of Durham next to the river. The menu is fairly typical of most pubs and is well cooked and well presented. The fact that it also has a menu for dogs makes it stand out from the rest. However, we didn't find out about that until we were about to leave, which was a shame. My pooch would have loved the chicken breast. Unfortunately, she doesn't doesn't tolerate gluten well, so no sausages for her. Never mind, we will know for next time.”
