Station Rd, Beamish, StanleyWe were staying at the Beamish hotel locally and made a reservation here for dinner. We were bowled over by the warmth of the welcome we received by Christine, ian and Paul Brennan, the patrons. They were very friendly, helpful, kind and generous and clearly very popular and well respected by regulars who dine there. The restaurant is exquisitely decorated with Italian murals depicting Italian scenes and there are mood lights everywhere creating an intimate and inviting atmosphere. It was busy and there was a buzz of excitement. \nThe menu was very extensive and had us salivating from the off. There was every Italian dish you could imagine and more. We opted for the stretched flat bread with meatballs and nduja and deep fried Brie Impanato - Panko breaded Brie, tomato salsa, beetroot gel to start. Both generous and tasty and obviously home made. The Brie was unctuous and oozing. For main course we had the Merluzzo di Arosti con Chorizo-\nRoasted cod fillet, herb crust & sun blushed tomato, olive & chorizo sauce served with rocket and Parmesan salad and the Pesce Branzino-\nPan fried sea bass fillets, chilli ginger & lime butter served on char grilled vegetables. We also greedily ordered a portion of Funghi All'Aglio -\nPan fried button & chestnut mushrooms, garlic cream sauce served on ciabatta.\nBoth main courses were delicious and perfectly cooked and nicely presented and well seasoned. Nothing was too much trouble for Paul, who served us and he was amiable and took time out from his busy service to chat with us and make us feel welcome. \nIl Cancello has that “family vibe” and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We would recommend this lovely restaurant in a heartbeat!

1 Kyo Rd, Catchgate, Annfield Plain, StanleyAmazing place ! You can order online or by phone. We have done both and every time your meal is ready and waiting for you . No queuing, no waiting around . Staff are very welcoming & polite nothing is any trouble for them. All food is freshly cooked & fish n chips are first class best in the area. Very good portions on every meal including the sides of curry sauce , mushy peas etc and they are really good portions unlike some closer to where we live are the size of an egg cup and very high priced just a joke. But here you get large portions no grease just crispy nicely cooked very tasty fish n chips. No cheap substitute s like places closer to us. The prices are total value for money. No wonder they do not have to advertise. The quality , taste & service is Top class. They don’t do stupid videos or do anything to upset any local competition. They are just a very honest business that serve fantastic food at very good prices , quick pick up , very well packed for transportation, very welcoming and really nice friendly staff. We will continue to buy here and we would not go anywhere else after trying every other biz within a 10 mile radius. This is definitely the place to go to quick , value for money & definitely THE BEST !

East St, StanleyJust enjoyed another lovely meal and as usual the staff were friendly and welcoming. I had the gammon skillet and my partner had the hunters chicken and the food was excellent. We come here regular and highly recommend this family restaurant. However I do have one thing I need to mention, I always get the ice-cream for desert and for some unknown reason they now give you two tubs of the ice-cream on a plate with a cup of strawberry sauce which means you have too eat a bit out of the tub then pour a bit of sauce in, eat a bit more and so on. I had too mention this as it looks very strange when they bring it out. That said I highly recommend eating here as the staff and food are always excellent.

46 Front St, StanleyAs a regular customer, It's a delight to visit Cooplands in Stanley, Co. Durham. A good range of Sandwaiches ready to buy, hot pies and pasties, and cakes are always on display, and the staff are always happy to make a sandwich, or salad box, to order. The shop is always very clean, well presented, and the staff are lovely and pleasant at all times.

8 Tyne Rd, StanleyThanks very much to all concerned at Snax for preparing and arranging such a magnificent buffet at East Stanley Club last night for my birthday party.
There was alot present but unfortunately many of my friends would rather frequent the bar than eat!
Many people took food home, tbose that did eat were highly complimentary and the rest will be put on the bar for the club's customers later today.
I am sorry everything wasn't eaten but the quality and presentation was excellent and unfortunately the "appetites" of my guests was totally out of my control.
Highly recommend Snax and will ring Tracey later to thank you all.

1 Mulberry Terrace, New Kyo, Annfield Plain, StanleyJoanne on the phone was a breath of fresh air! Very cheerful and helpful. Food arrived very quickly and was lovely and hot!! Got the salt and pepper munchie box for 1 with curry for my son and he’s absolutely demolished it! Thanks again

24b New Front St, Annfield Plain, StanleyJust wanted to leave a review - I’ve been using prime pizza for years now. Never put a foot wrong. Tonight- one minuscule mistake was made and I falsely accused them of cocking up the wrong order. It turns out it was my fault for the major mistake, and would like to apologise to all staff. They offered to rectify their error to which I declined on a basis of good will and respect. Will continue to order from here regardless. Amazing food and service.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve ordered from here, and every single time the food is absolutely perfect. Consistently great quality and always delivered on time. The chefs here are truly talented – they’ve even gone out of their way to accommodate all sorts of requests, from cheeseless pizzas to swapping sauces on a Parmesan, and tonight, they made a special wrap I asked for. Their professionalism, dedication, and work ethic are second to none. If you’re after delicious, high-quality food at great prices, look no further than The Fry Inn. These hardworking folks never disappoint!

The Garage bar and grille
Pavilion Terrace, Burnhope, DurhamGreat place, quirky but in the right way! They allowed us to look round the workshop to see the cars in various states of repair which was cool.
Food was really good and service was friendly and they were well informed about allergies unlike a lot of other venues.

South Causey Inn, StanleyTwo weeks today myself and wife were married in the Old Barn and we could not recommend the South Causey any more, the whole day was amazing. The grounds are beautiful, the food was fab and all our guests loved the full day. We booked our wedding almost two years ago and from the get go we’ve had such amazing service from Stacey and Stephanie. The day itself we had Stacey as our coordinator and she made the day so special and as stress free as she could possibly do. She ran through everything with us and guided us all day. She was absolutely amazing so a big thank you to Stacey. The evening was great, everyone had a good time, again the staff was amazing. We had Jack looking after the bar and the roulette table, he was good crack and had a bit of banter back and forth with the guests. Overall we had the most perfect day so a big thank you to all the South Causey staff. We can’t wait to come back!
