The Prestonville was a great local with well-liked long-term tenants until about 15 months ago, when they left and none of the three sets of people since then made a success of it. But now things are looking good again - friendly, very local tenants with plenty of good ideas and a new chef who has come up with a great menu. Popped in after an exhausting day getting some culture looking at the open houses. This is a warm relaxing pub with good beer and food. Busy but bar staff were friendly and efficient.
Lovely atmosphere, buzzy without being too busy, friendly owners, nice fire and the food, Sri Lankan night, was absolutely delish.But the music was AWFUL. I love a show tune as much as the next person but there was some terrible musicals CD on a loop, Evita, Greatest showman etc. It was like the music at a 6 year olds birthday party. Please just play some normal-ish music with the odd Lala song thrown in. We left after the 3rd loop, couldn’t listen to it anymore.Other than...read full review
