We went here at the end of November for a roast, and had a wonderful meal. Very decent sized portions, very succulent beef, probably the best Yorkshire pudding I've ever had out with a roast; it was big and crispy, and a good selection of veggies. And the gravy was delicious. Pudding was a brownie which I really didn't need, but enjoyed immensely. Lovely staff, and we weren't rushed even though we were there at the later end if service. We visited the Heathfield Tavern on spec to try it for lunch and what a very good idea it was! We were greeted by cheerful and friendly staff whose waiting skills were first class, chef was available to chat through a hatch into the kitchen and the tables were well spaced. The food was absolutely delicious, the best fish and chips I’ve ever had and my husband gave his sea bass 10/10. 4 friends and myself went for a few drinks and dinner at the weekend, the staff were polite and helpful, the food was hot/well-presented and tasty and the atmosphere was inviting and comfortable. I had the pasta linguine and my friends had burgers, overall a pleasant evening and will be back again for sure!
