The Heron
27 High St, Westham, Pevensey(Not rating Food because we didn't eat.) Our first time in the Heron, and we really enjoyed ourselves. It's a lovely place, with a smart, glistening bar! Teresa and Will are tremendous hosts/company, and could not have made us feel more welcome!

8-10 Eastbourne Rd, Pevensey Bay, PevenseyWe always pop in here when visiting the beach and can I just say every time we’ve been there the customer service is phenomenal, the young lady is so nice and polite, that also goes for the food, always hot and fresh, couldn’t recommend this place enough, just wish I could get people like yourself working for me. ?

72 Eastbourne Rd, Pevensey Bay, PevenseyA great find: service with a smile, fine beer, good atmosphere, excellent traditional pub menu at reasonable prices, a nice beer garden and on top of this fast car charging in the parking, all ckose to the Sussex coastline.

Ocean view bakery & restaurant
7 Eastbourne Rd, Pevensey Bay, PevenseyHadn't booked a table but the staff were very accommodating to seat a group of 5.They helped with getting our elderly parents in and out of the cafe. We all had breakfast which was lovely. Fast and friendly service. Great atmosphere. Definitely will visit again (even if it's just for the odd cake or two

Smugglers Restaurant
High St, PevenseyAte two lovely meals here with friends over the last four days. The roasts on Sunday with a free starter were really good and yesterday evening we ate poached salmon, fillet steak, pork belly and a ceaser salad with free starters and free desserts. The pub was exceptionally busy and the owners deserve to do well as they definitely put the effort in. The staff were attentive and very welcoming. Will definitely book a table when in the area next. Shame we're not local. Well done all the staff ??

Raipur Contemporary Indian Cuisine
43-45 Eastbourne Rd, Pevensey Bay, PevenseySix of us went last night to celebrate a birthday. From start to finish, it was a great experience. The staff were fantastic, the seating comfortable and uncrowded and the food was absolutely excellent in every way.

The Royal Oak & Castle
High St, PevenseyA family sunday lunch. Food was faultless, loads of it and a very reasonable price. Service was friendly and not intrusive. Pub was nice. Only said 4 star as garden could do with a tidy and toilets has no toilet paper or hand soap. Minor details, I know, but important to me for the 5 stars. Will definitely return.

The Star Inn
Sluice Ln, Normans Bay, PevenseyVisited on the first day of our holiday, food is excellent and cheap, double bonus. Staff are very friendly and the restaurant was clean and well lit. Enjoyed the food and experience that much we booked to eat there another 2 nights during our holiday.
Returned again for another 2 visits two years later and still excellent value for money, food is still really good.

Hailsham Rd, Stone Cross, PevenseyInitially we were a little concerned as we’d booked a table for 6 and went to the dog friendly side only to be greeted by a large group of musicians, singing and playing on most of the tables. However, as soon as I spoke to a staff member, we were moved to the quieter side so were more than happy.
Re the food: My Grandaughter said the chips were ‘banging’ ? her boyfriend said the hotdog was ‘delightful’. Hubby said that the steak was cooked perfectly and enjoyed all of the meal as did the other members of the group. My only disappointment was the pie, which was very dried out and not great tbh. Having said that, the dog rather enjoyed it ?
The service was very good and we had a lovely family meal. Will definitely visit again.

The Red Lion
Lion Hill, Stone Cross, PevenseyThis was the perfect place for a wake, given its location not far from Eastbourne Crematorium. We had the larger of two rooms, which was nicely decorated and laid out, with plenty of space and tables and chairs so our guests could all sit down. Viola, the manager, was especially helpful, advising on menu choices and offering flexibility - for example, we asked if our guests could be given a welcome drink on arrival as we would be later arriving from the crematorium and she was happy to organise this for us. Our guests appreciated the food - we had a lot of positive comments - and I also liked the way that a member of staff stayed in the room throughout the event, in case they were needed to help serve/clear away. It was also nice to have a large car park. All in all I would highly recommend the Red Lion for a wake.
