Stopped off here on spec for Sunday lunch. It was very busy and we hadn't booked but fortunately they were able to fit us in. We had the roast lamb and our friend the Sussex Smokie. It was all delicious and piping hot. Excellent service and a lovely open fire in the bar. Well worth a visit and obviously a popular
Absolutely lovely traditional pub to visit. Great welcome, cosy vibes and a roaring fire, what more could you want? Well, I had probably one of the best burgers I've had in my life! Can definitely recommend the venison burger and chips. The wife and I had a Stilton and mushroom starter which was sublime. The only issue was had was....no room for desert! We'll be back soon to remedy this for sure.

Revisited as forgotten, it still is right at the top of our list for somewhere to eat and meet up. Gorgeous food from a very sensible menu. Something for everyone and anyone.
