Had a casual cycle out to HF Broadoak and I fancied coming here for a drink served by the lovely gentleman behind the bar that told me about the ale I was buying because I have not heard of it I had the guest ale from wantsum brewery called 1381 which was the session IPA I highly recommend coming here as I have just seen the negative review before hand I clearly think this is a nice casual social place to have a drink as I don't have the green man down the road in takeley as a...read full review

Visited tonight and met the new landlord and manager, who have only taken over this week. A warm welcome was received. They are clearly passionate and intent to provide good beer and food. We're looking forward to returning soon.

Booked a table for Sunday lunch at the last minute. We haven't been here for at least 4 years but we were greeted with a friendly and warm welcome. The food was lovely, tasty and in good portions and the service was excellent. It felt as if you were in a friend's house.
