We decided to have Sunday lunch out at short notice. We called and booked a table for 1:30, not knowing how busy it would be. It's a relatively small cafe with loads of history and character on its history page. This was our first visit since moving into Lydney, about 20 mins away. Visited a couple of times recently and on each occasion have not been disappointed. Second time I might have been overcharged for food - breakfast baguette and coffee £9?! Anyway, that besides the food was good and the coffee very nice. Staff / owners are down to earth and friendly which is refreshing. Very clean restaurant and the loo was AMAZINGLY clean. Good for families. I give it a thumbs up and will defo be back again

We went to observe the Severn Bore, which occurred at 20:40 Saturday September 30 and 08:20 the next morning, October 1. We noticed that the Silver Fox café was at a convenient location for viewing and we wondered if it would be open on the Saturday evening. It wasn't. We parked and met Mandy, the proprietor of the Silver Fox, who asked what we were doing. We got chatting and she went and got us chairs to sit on as we waited for the Bore.
