This review is regarding The Hive, formerly The Gumstall Inn at Calcot spa. We got married there in 2010 and decided to pop back for a glass of wine. The place is beautiful, charming, chilled and after the refurbishment in April the feel is very different from when we were there in 2010, but lovely, service very attentive, polite and quality of everything fabulous, as we expected. We Came to Calcot for a delicious afternoon tea served by an excellent and friendly waitress, hazel, you could tell everything on the stand was home made and delicious and the setting in the restaurant is perfect

We went to the Brasserie for my birthday dinner. We were a group of five and we were all very happy with our choices of food. They didn’t take long to bring the entries and whole dinner ran in a very good pace. The waiters although young were very able and professional. I guess they overheard any mention of my birthday and brough me a surprise: a bowl with 3 scoopes of ice cream with a message writen with chocolate. I was very touched. The night was very pleasant.
