Booked an afternoon tea. I was skeptical about it at first cause of the negative reviews but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, tea and drinks provided. It’s actually a great location to visit and the food tasted fresh.

It was a little bit disappointing though because the service was a little bad, the staff didn’t really check on us after delivering the first meal. Additionally, I notified them about my allergens, however, upon arrival they made no provision to accommodate my request.

One of the staff with a red and curly hair was really nice though, he eventually turned the experience around by asking us how the meal and drinks were. He also offered us a cocktail selection after a coffee, despite the other staff mentioning we can only have either two hot drinks or two cocktails

The Tava Shop

I am one of the regular and old customer of *Tawa shop* in Croydon & Sutton branch. My children love too. Honestly to say. You can taste the quality in every dish. Nothing felt frozen or rushed. Five stars

spot-on. Felt taken care of frm the momentwe entered.
Best meal I always had in Croydon. Which is *Tawa Shop*. Perfect portions were generous, and staff always make us feel so welcome. Highly recommend.

Bao Bao Taiwanese Street Food

Been here before for the excellent Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup. This time had the crispy tofu bao, wonton noodle soup with some Jasmine green tea.

Staff very friendly. Food is delicious. Outside Box Park so is quite small - but welcoming.

CB Sezen Fish Bar

Amazing fish it's all cooked to order. If I'm honest with you the chips were just a little under cooked but do not let it put you of. They were still tasty and hot . Super friendly and fast service couldn't fault it otherwise ?

Helvadere

Food was very good , the staff was very friendly.
My only criticism is that they have so many desserts to choose from but all of them got nuts . Sadly I have a nut allergy I couldn’t have dessert, everyone on the table had a dessert but not me .
I would like to suggest to have at least one dessert but free

Picked up my good to go order tonight in Croydon and the staff were closing but still served me with amazing customer service! Shout to the staff YB and the manger OLI for still being so cheerful on a hottest day of the year!

The Ludoquist - Board Game Cafe Bar

Food was on a whole other level from anything around.
Service was great all around.
Atmosphere is just as great as everything else but the reason I didn’t give a straight 5 Stars is simply how somethings are too pricy, it becomes a place you want to go consistently to a place you’ll only go sometimes cause of that elevated prices.

Complaint aside…Amazing Pizza jeez!!

They served with a smile. Shan was so lovely and served us with a lovely manner. Will be coming back. I used to work at slug and lettuce and honestly this a lovely place to be in? I ordered a lychee cocktail and was to die for?

KFC New Addington - Central Parade

The staff were friendly and polite, and my order was prepared quickly. I also appreciated how clean and well-maintained the restaurant was, which made the dining experience more comfortable.

Overall, I’m very satisfied with the quality of food and service. Keep up the great work!

The Tree House

We picked The Treehouse for my daughter's 30th birthday celebrations and couldn't have chosen better! Food choices were given and paid for beforehand and everything came out hot and in a timely order. John and his team that night consisting of Tom, Ella and the chefs were attentive and made the whole evening one to remember. Children were allowed until 9:30, we were able to use our own Spotify Playlist for the music and the TVs, showing sport, could be turned off in that part of the pub if requested. Food is always great here and there was no problem providing our own Birthday cake instead of having desserts, and bowls/forks were supplied for this. We were able to go in early to put decorations up and the area used was spacious accommodating th 31 of us comfortably, still leaving room for dancing and picture taking! This is a great venue with lovely decor, is well managed and all in all a gem in the heart of Croydon.

J&D Kebab

If you’re looking for a proper, no-nonsense kebab spot, this place is an absolute gem. The food quality is consistently excellent, portions are generous, and everything tastes freshly cooked and full of flavour. You can really tell they care about what they serve and about their customers, which is rare these days.

The menu has loads of solid options, from classic doner kebabs and wraps to burgers and combination meals, so there’s something for everyone whether you want a quick bite or a proper feast. It’s easy to see why it’s rated highly by customers and has become a go-to for evening orders.

But the real highlight for me? The chips.
Honestly, the chips here are the best I’ve tried in the whole of London, crispy, perfectly cooked, and the ideal side to go with any kebab or wrap. I’d come back for the chips alone.

Service is fast, staff are friendly, and the food always arrives hot and fresh. It’s exactly what you want from a top local kebab shop. Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed.

Spread Eagle

Excellent. We came for drinks once during the week, came back to see a Liverpool game, with the kids, and stayed for food. This is probably one of few where we were allowed to stay with our teens. The team was great, the ambiance fabulous and the food great. Great location. Highly recommended.

Mahala

Absolutely fantastic experience at Mahala. The service was exceptional — friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome from start to finish. The food was delicious, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. You can really tell care and quality go into every dish. The atmosphere was lovely and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning!

Great atmosphere, quite a busy pub. Amazing staff! Definitely worth to mention that. All staff members were very polite cheerful and well trained. It was nice to be served by such a bunch of lovely people. Well done guys!
We have ordered the below:
1. Mini squashage rolls - amazing! 10/10 I am not even sure what it was made of exactly but it was beautiful. Didn’t taste like squash or sage.
2. Tempeh croquetas, aioli - amazing 10/10. Really enjoyed it. Again couldn’t even tell it was tempeh.
3. Crispy fried cauliflower, black rice vinegar, hot pineapple honey - 3/10 looked absolutely beautiful but was just too greasy. I couldn’t eat it.
4. Jersey Royal & asparagus salad, pickled pink onion, seeded crunch - 10/10. - was just beautiful definitely recommend to try.
5. Lions mane mushroom steak, hand cut chips, broccoli, peppercorn sauce - 4/10. Chips were fried so heavily and so greasy I just couldn’t eat it at all. Sadly steak was fairly tasteless I’m glad they had a peppercorn sauce on the side. That’s such a shame as it looked soooo beautiful!
6. Sticky toffee pudding - 100/10! Absolutely loved it!
Really need to try roast dinner!

Clocktower Cafe

Stopped of for a latte and pastry and what a fantastic place . The food they brought out looked delicious and came back again to try the toasties which were delicious.

Abshar Restaurant (Croydon)

I had a wonderful experience at this Persian restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious—rich in flavor, beautifully prepared, and truly authentic. Every dish tasted like it was made with care and tradition, from the perfectly seasoned meats to the fragrant rice and fresh herbs.

What made the visit even more special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and kind, creating a warm atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Their attentiveness and genuine hospitality perfectly complemented the outstanding food.

If you’re looking for authentic Persian cuisine served with heartfelt service, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Came in last night at 10.30pm and the food was EXCELLENT ??
The chicken tikka was superb.
Lovely service as well and all the staff were very friendly.
Will definitely be returning here again.

I had a great experience at Ayat. The food was genuinely high quality — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish tasted well-balanced and satisfying, making it easy to see why this place stands out.?

Friendly service in this old school local Indian which was recommended by people who grew up in Sanderstead. We had the butter chicken and lamb dhansak with plain naan. The butter chicken was strangely tasteless, the dhansak a bit too sweet for me. Naan was good though. Limited selection of beer (Guinness, Cobra and bottled Kingfisher). Reminded me why I don't buy Kingfisher!

Amigos Burger Lounge & Shisha Bar (South Croydon)

A great spot for delicious grilled burgers, cocktails, and shisha in a cozy, relaxing atmosphere — perfect for weekends. Roosters Piri Piri Croydon

Roosters is hands down the best food spot in Croydon. I’m a regular, and I love that when I call to place an order, they greet me by name. The food is always top quality and full of flavour, and the staff are consistently friendly and welcoming. I’ve never had a bad meal here.

Pizza Express

The service was exceptional - Yolanda and Cat surpassed expectations in how they managed our group. Everything was done with patience and in a super helpful, friendly, hospitable way. Really refreshing compared to recent experiences at other food places.

McDermott's Fish & Chips

Just the BEST FISH & CHIPS! Just visited again and thoroughly enjoyed! Have been coming here for 15+ years and the staff owners and food quality is so reliable. Capone's Pizza Parlour

Hands down one of the best family run pizza places in the area. Have been ordering from here for years, I love their Capone’s special with a thin crust it’s absolutely delicious every time. Delivery is usually quick and the drivers are always friendly and polite. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great pizza and excellent service!

Had lunch today, Party of 2. Ordered the festive menu - £20 - complementary snack, main + starter or dessert. Looked good.

Both us decided to have the menu. Exciting times. We were told that we could only have one complimentary dish per table. However. If we'd come in and sat at different tables, ordered solo we'd be able to. Mind blowing - isn't it!

Our server, DEE, what a super star and professional, went to get the manager. Super good bloke said it's the way the computer system was set up. Wrong answer. He said he'd make sure that we'd have 2 snacks and all correct on the bill.

All was fine and dandy after that little technical 'computer says no' glitch. Great service and super food. An enjoyable meal after the initial hiccup.

Pizza fantastica! I had delicious pizza at Nuvola Pizza as well as freshly made, bite-sized, mouth-watering arancini. Nicola from Sardegna uses quality ingredients and is super friendly and helpful - brilliant service and absolutely representative of the best qualities of Italy! Bravo, tornerò! For reference, I am Italian.

Peking Inn

I always enjoy my meal from Peking Inn. The family are nice and work hard - thank you. I usually prefer Peking Inn to other Chinese restaurants and I love that it's local too. Also I like that this isn't delivered picking it up is much nicer, fresher food better for the environment and you can thank the staff. I like the chips on the other side too, decent portions and tasty!

Never tried here before, serving was abit rushed and Money orientated at first, but after speaking to the cook I realised they work a lot, Just like me and was tired. Food was great, will definitely come back again. ?

Absolutely loved this restaurant. We went here recently. The service was fast, the staff were friendly, the environment was welcoming and the food was DELICIOUS.

We had a combination of vegans and meat eaters at our table. Everyone was extremely happy with their order. We were also pleased to see that they have takeaway options too!

We will definitely come back as it was such a lovely environment. Thanks to all the staff and chefs for a great evening.

Good Life Jerk Centre

Absolutely amazing experience at Good Life Jerk Centre! I ordered today on Uber Eats and the oxtail was incredibly tender, rich, and full of flavour—easily one of the best I’ve had. The rice and peas were perfectly cooked, and the coleslaw added a fresh, crisp balance. Everything tasted authentic and well-seasoned. I’ll definitely be ordering again!

Addington Charcoal Grill

Easily the best kebab shop in the area. The food is always fresh, packed with flavour, and the portions are seriously generous. The lamb doner is perfectly seasoned, the chicken is juicy, and the sauces are incredible — especially the garlic sauce.
Service is always friendly and fast, even when they’re busy, and the place is spotless. You can tell they really care about quality and their customers.
Whether it’s a late-night takeaway or a proper dinner, this place never disappoints. Honestly, once you try it, every other kebab shop feels average. Highly recommended! ??

Paratha Inn

Found this place while deciding on what to eat tonight, and thought it might be a little twist on a usual Indian or Bangladesh food. Since I love Parathas and Khati rolls I thought I’d give it a try. Boy was I glad I did!

What can I say about the food?
One word: Amazing

I had the Tikka Rice Bowl, the chicken paratha wrap, and samosa. I was excited to try this and it didn’t disappoint.
The tikka rice bowl is so full of flavour with a spicy kick too.
The paratha wrap also full of flavour and the cucumber was very sweet and fresh.
The samosa to me is more like a Pakistani type of samosa, 1 large samosa also very flavour full.

This place is not a hit or miss kind of place, all the food is on point, and it’s obvious that the chef knows what they are doing.

I thought twice about writing a review as I think if found what I will describe as a “diamond in the rough”, but credit where it’s due… the food here is incredible.

Me and my friend came into the cafe for breakfast, not expecting it to be any more than a greasy spoon. We were so pleasantly surprised to find such a gem. This is an absolute untouched gem, like stepping back to the 80s or 90s, black tiled front, stained glass windows and proper carpet! great guiness too and for 5.30 good price too. This is what pubs are about, friday nights are a lively loud local affair, while weekday nights still has its regulars and a nice cosy feel on a cold night. Couple of dart boards and a high fidelity juke box, Classic British boozer. My sort of place and people.

We had a wonderful time here! The chatti choru and express meal were wonderful. They came quickly, were fresh and delicious and had enough of a kick to make them authentic and taste like eating the real thing. The service by Siddarth was great and I’d recommend a sweet/salt lime soda to go with your meal. Reasonably priced and great value for a wonderful dinner.

Absolutely the best fish and chips in the area.
Food is amazing. So fresh and clean.
Bonus that they cook the chicken and sausages separately from the fish. They also wrap everything separately, which is amazing for a fussy household.

Empire Kebab House

Wow Kebab heaven, Doner meat perfection, chicken shish perfection, chips perfection, chilli/garlic sauce perfection. Could tell a lot of love and tender care went into it. Thanks a lot.

They are always friendly, the fish and chips are tasty and good quality there are no complaints.

There prices has increased i am not moaning because everything has increased oil, the cod, potatoes, flour etc .
Therefore people who are moaning about how costly it is, people need to understand the economy is not the way it use to be, therefore majority of restaurants or takeouts has increased their prices now days.

Overall great fish and chips will happily to return again!

Mei Chinese Take Away

Mei is our favourite. We've moved a few miles away and tried the local offerings and they just don't hit the same so now we ring in an order and drive to collect, we like it that much. Generous portions, reasonable prices and amazing flavour. Singapore noodles, beef in black pepper sauce (the onions!) And Kung po chicken are our favourites but we've never had a dish from there that has disappointed. If they ever close we'll be heartbroken.

Lovely pub with a fantastic atmosphere and pleasant friendly staff. We are always welcomed with smiles and often bring our friends and family including our young children. Nicky and Karl are just amazing!

My mother is in hospital after a stroke. I come and go looking after her. A couple fo times she wanted fish and chips and frankly every time was pretty bad.

Firstly when you walk in, I work with food products, the place is spotless, I mean spotless, looks incredible and obvious pride.

Fish and chips was incredible, quality was A + how rare these days.

Great place for burgers
Tried their Chicken Lemon and herb burger really juicy and full of flavours.
Also tried their Quarter pounder , Double quarter pounder really good price for the quantity and flavour.
The guy at the counter is very nice

Chang Cheng

This must be one of the best hidden Chinese takeaways in London. I have been to many upmarket restaurants which dont compete with some of the dishes on offer. The spring rolls are easy some of the best I have tried.
To add to that, the prices are very cheap, and it seems like a long standing family run business that doesn't need to move past the good old days.

Ossies Fish & Chips

Just visiting family in the area who provided this for dinner when we asked for fish and chips. Fantastic! Large chips served with salt and vinegar upon request. The cod was very crispy on the outside and a thick, flakey, fleshy white on the inside.

Abra Kebabra

Whenever I visit the UK Abra Kebabra is an absolute must eat.
The quality of the food is the best I have had anywhere in England during my visits.
