Booked an afternoon tea. I was skeptical about it at first cause of the negative reviews but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, tea and drinks provided. It’s actually a great location to visit and the food tasted fresh.

It was a little bit disappointing though because the service was a little bad, the staff didn’t really check on us after delivering the first meal. Additionally, I notified them about my allergens, however, upon arrival they made no provision to accommodate my request.

One of the staff with a red and curly hair was really nice though, he eventually turned the experience around by asking us how the meal and drinks were. He also offered us a cocktail selection after a coffee, despite the other staff mentioning we can only have either two hot drinks or two cocktails

Bao Bao Taiwanese Street Food

Been here before for the excellent Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup. This time had the crispy tofu bao, wonton noodle soup with some Jasmine green tea.

Staff very friendly. Food is delicious. Outside Box Park so is quite small - but welcoming.

The Tava Shop

We came with family for breakfast and felt right at home. Our server Raj was extremely kind and professional. From amazing food to great service we’ll highly recommend if you are in town to stop here.

The Ludoquist - Board Game Cafe Bar

I visited cafe with my cousins and we totally loved it. We had fun time and enjoyed more than 6 games. Food was good and the staff was friendly. Totally recommend this place who likes to play board games.

Ponte Nuovo

I am one of three friends who love spending a lunch together at this fab restaurant. The food is delicious and plentiful. The staff, lady waitress (forgot to ask her name) and Nicholas were so friendly and attentive, without being over the top. The restaurant wasn't at all busy, but it was a Monday!

Mithras Turkish Mediterranean Restaurant

Mithras Restaurant is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had in Croydon. We came with a group of 15 for a company event and everything was flawless from start to finish.

The mixed grill platter was incredible, full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and more than enough to share. The baklava and tea at the end were the perfect finish to an already amazing meal.

What really stood out was the service. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

If you’re in Croydon, Mithras is an absolute must visit. Exceptional food, outstanding service, and a place you’ll definitely want to return to.

The Tree House

Excellent. Had a delicious Sunday roast. Service was excellent. The young lady was very tentative, went out of her way to provide a hot drink for us. Would highly recommend.

KFC New Addington - Central Parade

Quality was the priority and this kfc was perfect for delicious food and If you want to take food in a minute go and try ,100% accurate and freshness in the food was amazing and saving the people time which I can mention as their strength

Roosters Piri Piri Croydon

I love roosters and this is my first time to the Croydon restaurant...and it won't be my last!
The best Roosters I've been to. .. chicken thighs were delicious, juicy and tasty.
Although I only ordered 3 pieces the manager gave me an extra piece and threw on loads of fries...the fries were also really nice and crispy.

Spread Eagle

Excellent. We came for drinks once during the week, came back to see a Liverpool game, with the kids, and stayed for food. This is probably one of few where we were allowed to stay with our teens. The team was great, the ambiance fabulous and the food great. Great location. Highly recommended.

Memory Box Cocktail Bar

Came to memory box last Saturday, lovely place, great music, tasty drinks. I'd like to give a shout out to the lady behind the bar with blonde and black hair, she was very lovely and very professional had brilliant drink recommendations. I will definitely be back!

Great atmosphere, quite a busy pub. Amazing staff! Definitely worth to mention that. All staff members were very polite cheerful and well trained. It was nice to be served by such a bunch of lovely people. Well done guys!
We have ordered the below:
1. Mini squashage rolls - amazing! 10/10 I am not even sure what it was made of exactly but it was beautiful. Didn’t taste like squash or sage.
2. Tempeh croquetas, aioli - amazing 10/10. Really enjoyed it. Again couldn’t even tell it was tempeh.
3. Crispy fried cauliflower, black rice vinegar, hot pineapple honey - 3/10 looked absolutely beautiful but was just too greasy. I couldn’t eat it.
4. Jersey Royal & asparagus salad, pickled pink onion, seeded crunch - 10/10. - was just beautiful definitely recommend to try.
5. Lions mane mushroom steak, hand cut chips, broccoli, peppercorn sauce - 4/10. Chips were fried so heavily and so greasy I just couldn’t eat it at all. Sadly steak was fairly tasteless I’m glad they had a peppercorn sauce on the side. That’s such a shame as it looked soooo beautiful!
6. Sticky toffee pudding - 100/10! Absolutely loved it!
Really need to try roast dinner!

Abshar Restaurant (Croydon)

I had a wonderful experience at this Persian restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious—rich in flavor, beautifully prepared, and truly authentic. Every dish tasted like it was made with care and tradition, from the perfectly seasoned meats to the fragrant rice and fresh herbs.

What made the visit even more special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and kind, creating a warm atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Their attentiveness and genuine hospitality perfectly complemented the outstanding food.

Came in last night at 10.30pm and the food was EXCELLENT ??
The chicken tikka was superb.

Second time here and it was quieter than last time as there was no party and loud music. Food was great both times and will go there again. They do delivery as well.

The Cricketers

What a great pub. Dropped in with 2 old friends and we were made to feel very welcome by the landlord, Chin (hope I've spelt that right). Good range of tap beers on offer and the Jerk fries were delicious. Beer garden out the back was a nice sun trap as well. As we were leaving the quiz night was in full swing and the bar was crowded. We'll be back as only a short walk from East Croydon station.

Green Dragon Croydon

This is a great addition to the area. A vibrant modern pub with friendly staff and great food. Regular events and special offers. A special mention to the Fabulous Lucy.

Pizza Express

The service was exceptional - Yolanda and Cat surpassed expectations in how they managed our group. Everything was done with patience and in a super helpful, friendly, hospitable way. Really refreshing compared to recent experiences at other food places.

Had lunch with the family over the weekend. Excellent range of veg and non-veg options - Cauliflower 65, veg briyani, Chicken Malabar curry, and beef fry, butter chicken were excellent. Sooraj and Sumesh were on-point with their service. Thank you

First time @Ayat and loved it.
Good was great, flavour dishes prepared with care.
Interior looks great has it's own unique flair although music was to loud.
Service was a bit lacking.
We where seated promptly and our food came out in timely manner but the waitress didn't check on us at all (she was on her phone all the time we where there as we could see from our spot).
We need to get up and ask her for another round of drinks as she wasn't paying any attention to us at all.And then she got our simple order for drinks wrong, we where the only costumers there so no distractions and it was quite early an a lazy Sunday.
Hope that the service does improve as the food was delicious.
Will come back to give it another chance for sure.

Often come for ‘library lunch’ with our little one, and the grandparents. Friendly service. Options to please everyone and nice community feel. Nice seeing work of local artists on display.
It’s a simple cafe that does exactly what you would want and more in the middle of Croydon. It’s always paired with a visit to the children’s library and a run around at the Queens Gardens park

It’s been a local chippy for over 10+ years, the owners and staff are friendly and a real part of this community. Absolutely Delicious fish fresh to order, the cod was tender and seasoned to the white meat!!! ?

Special shout out for the mushy peas, which were yes.. also seasoned down ? I couldn’t figure out what it was seasoned with but it gave it such a umami/smokey flavour. @mcdermotts how much for the recipe ??

Had lunch today, Party of 2. Ordered the festive menu - £20 - complementary snack, main + starter or dessert. Looked good.

Both us decided to have the menu. Exciting times. We were told that we could only have one complimentary dish per table. However. If we'd come in and sat at different tables, ordered solo we'd be able to. Mind blowing - isn't it!

Our server, DEE, what a super star and professional, went to get the manager. Super good bloke said it's the way the computer system was set up. Wrong answer. He said he'd make sure that we'd have 2 snacks and all correct on the bill.

All was fine and dandy after that little technical 'computer says no' glitch. Great service and super food. An enjoyable meal after the initial hiccup.

No other place to go other than Capones. These guys have a good reputation locally. And it’s because the pizza is top notch and so is the service. Pizza always arrives fresh and hot. I’ve had the odd issue with pizza arriving with toppings etc all slid off. But a quick phone call and they replace it. Which goes to show how good they are. And that’s only because the pizzas are fully loaded with cheese and toppings unlike the main well known high street takeaways. Last time I had a dominos it was pretty much bread with tomato sauce. No cheese. Keep it up Capones.

Fingers Kebab

Never tried here before, serving was abit rushed and Money orientated at first, but after speaking to the cook I realised they work a lot, Just like me and was tired. Food was great, will definitely come back again. ?

Pizza fantastica! I had delicious pizza at Nuvola Pizza as well as freshly made, bite-sized, mouth-watering arancini. Nicola from Sardegna uses quality ingredients and is super friendly and helpful - brilliant service and absolutely representative of the best qualities of Italy! Bravo, tornerò! For reference, I am Italian.

Royal Garden Chinese Restaurant

Absolutely loved this restaurant. We went here recently. The service was fast, the staff were friendly, the environment was welcoming and the food was DELICIOUS.

We had a combination of vegans and meat eaters at our table. Everyone was extremely happy with their order. We were also pleased to see that they have takeaway options too!

We will definitely come back as it was such a lovely environment. Thanks to all the staff and chefs for a great evening.

Companion Chinese Takeaway

Ordered for the first time today and they were amazing! With everywhere in lockdown they catered for my allergies, delivered in wonderful time, sent a really tasty meal and made my son’s 8th birthday “brilliant”!

A friend and I came here for the first time recently and were really impressed. All of the dishes we had were tasty.

I never order bhajis in restaurants because I often find them too greasy but my friend ordered them here and they were great, crisp and not oily at all.

We ordered the darsha (spicy) and the kalaja koora (more on the sweet, mild side) main dishes and recommend both

The rice portion was smaller than we expected but a minor point for me.

Definitely recommend and will be returning!

The best little cafe in south Croydon - always busy! Extensive menu - never seen so many breakfast options. The food is delicious, arrives super quickly and the portions are huge. It’s excellent value for money too. The guys that run it are really friendly and there’s always good chatter between them and locals. Lovely vibe.

Stopped by Wendy’s for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken nuggets were crispy, the fries were hot, and the Frosty hit the spot as always. Service was fast and the restaurant was clean. Only downside was the burger bun felt a bit too soft, but overall it was a solid fast-food experience.

Love going to todays and it’s one of my favourite spots in the area. HOWEVER, please bring back the old restaurant sign!! Why did you replace it? Before it was a vibe, now it’s like any other builders cafe! Ugly and totally not on brand with the different colours, huge font etc. Shocking downgrade!

This use to be one of my favourite cafes as a child I hadn’t been in so long . The waitress Leah lovely little pretty thing was so welcoming and polite ! She made me and my boyfriend laugh for about 5minutes . She made me a ferrero rocher milkshake it was the best thing I ever tasted

Amigos Burger Lounge & Shisha Bar (South Croydon)

Amigos is hands down one of the best spots in London for a seriously good burger! The quality of the meat, the freshness of the ingredients, and the way everything is cooked to perfection really sets them apart. You can tell they put care into every bite. The atmosphere is also a big plus — relaxed, clean, and perfect whether you’re just grabbing a quick bite or hanging out with friends at the shisha lounge. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the service was fast even during peak hours. If you’re a burger lover in London, this place is a must-try!

Mei Chinese Take Away

We don’t usually eat out, but when we do, it’s straight to MEI’s! Their rice? Chef’s kiss. And don’t even get us started on the honey-fried chicken meal box—it’s so good, it’s worth every bite!

Wayside Fish Bar

Absolutely the best fish and chips in the area.
Food is amazing. So fresh and clean.
Bonus that they cook the chicken and sausages separately from the fish. They also wrap everything separately, which is amazing for a fussy household.

Everyday's Croydon North End

One of the best chicken shops that I know, the sauce alone is the best that a chicken shop has to offer & it has been like this since 2018 and it never has let me down. I suggest getting the half chicken with sauce and rice something chicken shops don't do is have rice but serve grilled chicken, weird if you ask me. Ask boss man to put the sauce on the rice also if you choose to get takeaway & thank me later. I still think the shop needs a little revamp, they are polite & the turnover wait is pretty quick. Hands down the best chicken shop in Croydon is you ask me.

Cafe Dino

Me and my friend came into the cafe for breakfast, not expecting it to be any more than a greasy spoon. We were so pleasantly surprised to find such a gem. The place itself is big and modern and very clean. The staff were so polite and helpful and the food was yummy and very reasonably priced. I will be becoming a real regular here.

Abra Kebabra

This is my go to kebab shop. It’s more of a takeaway than a restaurant. Everything about it is perfect. The food is fresh and delicious, the portions generous and the prices are very fair. This is what customers want and that is why this kebab shop is always busy.

Chick'n Box

Another place for chicken rice £7.65 at Chick'n Box.
Pricier than other joints in the area probably owing to its location near the station but it was loaded with so much moist tender chicken breast pieces.
Protein lovers will love this.

Castella’s Fish and Chips

Absolutely love their chips. Every time I've been, they've been fresh, chunky and delicious. Very generous portions as well.

Nice place to sit in and eat with the family as well.

Ossies Fish & Chips

Just visiting family in the area who provided this for dinner when we asked for fish and chips. Fantastic! Large chips served with salt and vinegar upon request. The cod was very crispy on the outside and a thick, flakey, fleshy white on the inside.

The Fish House

The Fish House, another chippy.
It was cod but the texture was a bit different, not quite springy but moist and soft.
The vinegar there lacked its kick just like some chippies.
I am guessing it was renovated recently from the fine white paint droplets on the condiments etc.

Station Fish & Chips

Every time I order fish and chips anywhere other here I’m disappointed. This place never disappoints, really excellent fish and chips
