41-43 Station Lane, HornchurchHad the most perfect casual dinner tonight. We were taken care of by the lovely Anna who recommended our amaretto cherry cocktails which we absolutely enjoyed. Cannot go wrong with their mozzarella garlic bread to start and had the meatballs alla vodka pasta for mains which was so delicious. Our waiter Oskar was great too! Will definitely be visiting again soon.

51 High St, HornchurchThis was our first visit to Tarantino and we loved it. The welcome was friendly and attentive and there was nice atmosphere already which only got better as the evening wore on. All of the other guests seemed to be really enjoying their evening and that have us confidence that we had chosen the right place. The manage and staff took the time the ensure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The food was freshly prepared and consequently hot when served. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous portions and everything was very delicious. The atmosphere was so pleasant that we struck up friendly conversation with the guests on the table in next to ours. This doesn't normally happen to the extent that it did at this restaurant.
We also thought that the prices were reasonable. We will definitely visit again.

Lots of seating, not normally too busy, but can a peek times, but mostly seems clean and well looked after. I go for a early morning breakfast, so my comments are based on quiet times. Have been at peek times and all good, but not enough to make a solid statement. However, for a quiet breakfast before the day or your work starts, it's perfect and a lovely atmosphere.

104 Ardleigh Green Road, HornchurchI have been ordering here for just over a year now and despite opting for other outlets on multiple occasions, the pizza here is certainly (in my opinion) the best in the area! The staff are super friendly too - Sudesh in particular! Which is why it’s non-negotiable that I get my pizza from Pizza Hut Harold Hill. I had a large order for a party in November which they handled with ease - I cannot recommend enough. Thanks Sudesh and co. See you again soon!

So decided to take them out for lunch at the coffee shop. From the bottom of my heart thank you to the young lady with dark hair who served me and my kids today at the coffee shop. I truly appreciate her kindness towards us. We all had a great experience and I'm sure my kids will want to visit again

The Crown, 360 Hornchurch Rd, HornchurchBeen trying to track down a DJ I heard way back last year, I think at a pub in Dagenham. I was signposted by Daga Dave to last Sunday’s SkanMash event here. Have to be honest, I was a tad hesitant (bit of a vibe in the nation at the mo). Anyway, I adorned myself with my lucky Union Jack tie and pretend DMs and walked past the street flags down the road to the entrance.
Have to admit, I didn’t feel overly comfortable standing under a noose (given the historical connotations) so I opted to stand under a hook instead, luckily, no head impaled on it…Note: Halloween-inspired décor,quite a show! ?
On 'my entry' like a scene from 'An American Werewolf in London', those familiar with the old movie may grin… But all that quickly paled into insignificance, as the bar staff were so kind and the crowd genuinely warm.
A huge ta to Vice for saying hello and chatting to me, even offered me a drink, so lovely! And Sandy, thank you for lending me your fan during my menopausal sweat-on (giggle).
To the acts: Although you weren’t the chap I heard in Dagenham, SkanMash, brilliant! Finally felt able to just be in the zone. A heartfelt thank you. Also, a sprinkling of Northern Soul! I usually have to go seek out Walls of Heartache for a fix. I can’t do the moves, but I love watching those who can.
The added extra of Monkey’s Wedding, loved it! And his kilt matched my tie, perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed their set. I was mesmerised by the sax, and the bass was good too.
Definitely worth missing Songs of Praise and Downton Abbey for…Ta very much to the DJ, musicians, staff, and crowd at the Crown.

122 North St, HornchurchI had a private whisky lesson, “Deconstructing Whisky,” with Alison at The Hop Inn — and I can’t recommend it enough!
She takes you through the whole journey, starting from when whisky is essentially beer (before hops) and explains everything in a really engaging and easy-to-understand way.
I went in knowing nothing and came away with a much better understanding of single malts, blended grain and the history behind it all.
