The big positive to note was the service, incredibly quick and well organised. Usual selection of drinks but sky high prices for a Wetherspoon which is a bit unusual as they are usually fairly similar no matter what area you go to in the Country. Very busy so no seating available, plan to eat went out of the window. The scaffolding inside ruined the overall look and feel of the pub which was a shame. (As I always begin reviews of chains) It's a "Spoons". So you know exactly what you're getting. Large range of beers at reasonable prices. No intrusive music. Cheap food. This one is having its rather grand interior renovated right now. Absolutely rammed as opposed to most City pubs on a Thursday post new year with a good mixed crowd of builders and office workers grabbing a few drinks before catching their trains at, next door, Liverpool Street. Yet again, Wetherspoons provide very good value breakfast. It was served promptly by an extremely well mannered, friendly gentleman more akin to the service you might expect at the Ritz. This is a very interesting setting undergoing some restoration work.
