My wife and myself had a most enjoyable lunch yesterday with her sister and daughter (visiting from California) at Haxells Restaurant in the Strand Palace Hotel (where our family members were staying). We were given a lovely quiet table and had a delightful long lunch. Both the food (particularly liked my calamari, corned chicken & lemon tart with vanilla ice cream) and service were excellent. All in all, a most enjoyable experience which I should gladly repeat.

This is my second time staying at Strandpalace. Haxells, you are wonderful. The sweetest employees in the world may be here. I came to the Hotel for the New Year and unfortunately got sick. They helped me without expecting anything. They made herbal tea and did their best to make me feel better. They are amazing. I'm going back to my country, but I'm here every time I come to London.
