Service charge for what? We were seen to a table outside, waited 10 minutes to order, and another 15 minutes for our coffee to arrive after having to chase it up. When I asked why the bill didn't add up, he relied "well it is quite expensive here"...They refunded the service charge, but £16 for 2 lots of coffee and cake (it was pretty good, tbh) just can't be justified when there's so much choice around
We just wanted to have some wine and nibbles and this place was spot on!Lovely welcome, a table was quickly found even though it was only an hour until closing. Staff were welcoming, food delicious and great service. Will definitely try again when in the area.

I tried Notes again recently after a few years of avoiding it and it has not improved at all! The service is pretty awful (ignored, takes forever, SO expensive), the Welsh Rarebit was just quite sad and tasteless and the coffee is not good. Great location so decent atmosphere, but won't be back.
