We were in London before Covid and felt that the accommodation and pubs were very old and worn down. We wondered if a visit back was worth the trouble particularly with the on going never ending rail and transport disputes. Its guerrilla warfare. Well we still had the transport hassles and delays on the railways but it was manageable. We stayed at the Blackbird in the Potter Room. It was comfortable, homey and clean with a good size bathroom. The staff were very accommodating and even carried our luggage up three flights on arrival as the lift was out of order. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast as it was plentiful and delicious. We also enjoyed the discount if you ate in the pub. The location is great as it is a two minute walk to the tube station and amenities across the street. We had a fantastic 4 night stay at this hotel, centrally located in the heart of London. Although an older (historic) building, they have done a good job of keeping it up. As with many accommodations in London, the rooms are small, which made storing our luggage a little tricky. Given the location, essentially right across the street from the Erols Court Underground station, getting to any destination using the tube was a snap.
