The phrase ‘best pub in London/I’ve been to’ is often thrown around, but it is completely true of the Carlton. With an amazing resurrection story, a hundred year heritage and a totally independent ownership, it is one of a kind. The Carlton tavern is only .3 of a mile away from the Marriott hotel in Maida Vale. So we walked there for lunch.It was very busy as there was a rugby game about to start.There are 3 different rooms in which you can sit to eat and drink. There's also plenty of outdoor seating. It’s our favourite neighbourhood pub and we like spending time in there. And food was surprisingly very good at pub food standards . They update the menu seasonally and their chef was always doing a great job! However, we were there yesterday and unfortunately we realised that the food was different - maybe they changed their chef - . Beef and veggie burgers weren’t as good as usual, they were very tasteless , and the chunky chips weren’t definitely up to their standards...read full review
