I decided to take some family members there for Sunday lunch back in August. I hadn't booked as it was a decision made on impulse. The bar maid was so friendly and equally helpful in getting us a table for four. The food was excellent and the wine list, being a wine merchant, was very interesting as well as reasonably priced for top French & Italian labels with bottle age from good vintages. We turned up for a few quick drinks here after specifically wanting to see its reputed old fashioned, traditional, historical decor which can be difficult to find in the masses of other pubs. Whilst it isn't the most spacious and still had all our favourite drinks available, we loved it's character throughout and are glad we visited!
