Met family here over from Australia, lovely atmosphere, nice decor and friendly staff. Food was a slight letdown, had Hake and gunpowder potatoes which should have come with a sauce, but they ran out, had some tartre instead, tasted ok, but small portion, not worth the money. Other meals within our party were better, but no one raved about their food! Also, drinks a bit expensive for us, we live in Sussex, not used to those prices.
I have been a regular at the Mitre for the past year and absolutely love it here. The lovely Tia and the rest of the staff are just so welcoming, with a great memory for our “usual” which always makes us feel special.Food is also great!In all this public house is safe, warm and welcoming from the usual pub type places in the area

We had a room booked and the staff arranged it so we could check in early which was great. Also had a meal and that was also nice and the service was great.Parking: There is no parking but can pay to park on the Ibis opposite.
