Laid back local pub with friendly staff and varied clientele, you are made to feel very welcome. Selection of beers and ciders, I had the traditional haddock and chips which was just spot on. Very reasonable prices. This is one of Highgate’s historic pubs with a long history, but has remained very individual and unpretentious. Everything a pub should be then.
The pub has quite a nice vibe, especially in winter when the fire is roaring but the food is below average and lacking any flavour. Have tried the Sunday roast a few times hoping it will get better but every time it is disappointing. Shame... lots of potential if they can improve the whole package.

Another evening of friendly conviviality in this ‘local’ pub was made even better by a genuinely warm welcome from its lovely staff ,as ever ..and, from its new ‘mine host ‘Haroun ….which was indeed a most refreshing change….that heralded the start of an early evening ‘responsible ‘ quaffing session .Looking forward to doing it all again ….maybe this evening !Thankyou to allPaul
