this pub ha shad many managers over its time but in recent times there seems to be a culture of not admitting people after a certain time,even if that is up to two hours before closing.when the place is open until 1am and orders can be placed right up to then,it doesnt make sense to A stop letting people in at 11pm and B telling people who have just purchased drinks that they have just ten minutes to drink them.they are forgetting that they are there to make money,not alienate...read full review

Great traditional medium sized pub with good quality food and very reasonable pricing, well pretty cheap to be honest. Can get noisy and rowdy at times. During busy times you will struggle to find a table. Drinks are excellent with wide range.Vegetarian options: Full vegetarian or vegan breakfast is really filling. There are a few other main meal vegetarian options along with suitable sides.

Bizarrely no tartar sauce sachets were to be had anywhere in the pub and the mayonnaise had also all run out (both were due in the next delivery). The duty manager however seemed to take pity on us and dutifully made sure the chef's last mayo bottle was retrieved from the kitchen for us. We had fish and chips and both were cooked to perfection.Like all Wetherspoons it does the annoying thing of showing pump clips of beers that have run out.
