We were pleased to see that a café was still located in the House of Fraser department store. It occupies a large and pleasantly decorated space. Two flat whites cost £5.40. When we visited on a Monday morning it certainly wasn’t busy, perhaps most people don’t realise it is still open.
Sad this excellent cafe is closing for a month due to lockdown . We visit it at least twice a week or more. The staff are warm and friendly. The cafe is spotless. Roll on 3rd December.

Lovely, pleasant place to eat with comfortable seating areas. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Coffee is delicious and there is a good selection of food. I had a tuna jacket potato which was plentiful and served with coleslaw and salad leaves.
