Visited Rhode Island Coffee on the first day of their re-opening. Eye catching refurbishment worth waiting for. Good selection of food and drinks. Very pleasant atmosphere. Friendly and pleasant staff. I sat upstairs by the window. Very relaxing. Good background music playing.
Nice little coffee shop with plenty of seating. Coffee was quite nice and not as bitter as Costa. The buns were nice as well. We sat upstairs on this occasion looking out towards the old White Lion pub.

I really like the upstairs bit since the refurb. It's not trying to be modern. It feels old school cosy coffee shop, in a good way. Instantly reminded me of the coffee shop in Frasier, or something from a 90s rom com. Nice place to hide away in the winter with a book or laptop.Unfortunately my flat white wasn't great, which is a shame but I put that down to new young staff still training and finding their feet so not the end of the world.
