We had the upstairs function room for our family occasion, our Golden Wedding anniversary. Thirteen of us. We were given the opportunity of pre-ordering, so we did. Plenty of choice. The room was just perfect, tables set out so that we could all chat. Staff were very friendly, professional and attentive but not intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely food but staff appeared very stressed and hurried, whizzed past us several times before acknowledging us waiting at the bar which wasn't a warm welcome. The food was amazing but make sure you have 3/4 of an hour spare to wait for it. Had to go up to the bar to order more drinks whilst we waited for food, which is fair enough but the bar staff had told us they would come to us! Lovely pub but too many let downs on this occasion.

Went to the Good Companions on Friday night for a Meal and couple of drinks. I had the 8oz Chuck and Short Rib Beef Burger, Chips, Onion Rings,Salad and Home made Coleslaw. The Wife had Chicken, Bacon and Leek Pie, Mash Potato and Veg. Best Meal we've had out in a long time. I've given 5 stars across the board as in my opinion it's worth that.
