My mother had just been placed into a nursing home, we travelled 700 miles to visit her and take her essentials to her. This was how we spent our 40th wedding anniversary, on the way back from the nursing home we were tired and hungry. We decided to stop at the fisherman's rest, a pub we had driven past for 42 years but never had the time to stop at. They were dog friendly so was perfect. We went to fishermans rest last Saturday night to eat I had the belly pork with salad it was fab . My husband had the sea bass and scallop risotto also very tasty. We both had desserts to all good. The service was very good and speedy. We were served by jasmine who was very polite smiley and really good at her job.
