Had a fantastic Burns Night meal last night, had a wonderful welcome by the new owner (Nick) and his lovely family. His wife is the chef and makes the most beautiful food. Burns night was a set meal for £27. We had Smoked salmon pate with oat cakes, husband had Haggis and I had a large haddock fishcake with poached egg on top with hollandaise sauce. The pub had a lovely warm atmosphere and had a real buzz. The family who own the pub are extremely accommodating and welcoming. We’ve eaten in there on several occasions and I’ve never been disappointed with the service or the quality of the food. I would highly recommend the Chequers to anyone who enjoys and warm village pub environment.

Visited for the curry night tonight and it was fab! Great value as you receive the curry you choose with rice, naan and onion Bhaji. All very tasty and well presented. Friendly service and great atmosphere too. Highly recommend!
