3.5 stars. Review of the Basingstoke branch. Cod and chips is 10 quid. Lunch special of the same is 7 quid. Fish has shrunk over the past 2-3 years. Tiny cod, decent batter, reasonable amount of chips at least. Wasn't piping hot but was good enough. Decent enough - no complaints.
I am vegetarian so the opinion regarding the fish is that of my better half. She had medium cod, I had a crunchy coated, fish shaped thing called a fishless fillet and we shared a portion of chips.Her loveliness was impressed with both the fish and the chips. The fish looked well cooked but was rather oily when I served it and the chips were golden in colour, medium crunchy and rather nice. Good fish and chips shop, large interior, obviously busy on certain days and at certain times, food is good quality overall, no dine in options, strictly takeaway. We enjoy our orders from here.I recommend the Chicken Heroes.
