This is probably my local although I'm not a regular but when I do go it is always a pleasure (I'm not much of a drinker/pub goer these days). Staff really friendly, food decent pub fare especially the pies. Good choice of beer...it is a CAMRA pub after all. Fantastic beer garden for warmer days and excellent for sport particularly the rugby as it is very much a rugby pub. Would suggest booking if you want a table on a 6 nations weekend. Was recommended this pub whilst investigating my ancestry in Hertford and I have to say what a lovely pub it is too...staff really friendly and welcoming, a warm atmosphere. Will be back during my next visit to Hertford. Would give you 10 stars

Served by a very friendly woman who made you feel extremely welcome from the moment you walked in. Had the Sunday roast which was very tasty. The veg was even good which often goes amiss on a Sunday roast!
