There aren't many 'real' pubs in the centre of Watford anymore, but the Nascot is a great little pub that's worth spending time in whether you're there for the excellent Thai food in the restaurant, or you're there just for a beer.The pub area is small so can get crowded, but it's always easy to get served as the staff are good. Had a great xmas team lunch here on Friday and, as always, it was a great experience.Food is consistently good and very reasonably priced, about £17 pp for 5 entrées and 10 mainsGreat atmosphere and friendly staff in the bar and restaurant.
The Nascot has an excellent range of bitters that changes every week served by friendly and attentive bar staff. Whatever football happens to be on that night is shown on the several screens but somehow it doesn't overpower if you aren't into football.Mr Tings, the Thai restaurant part of the pub is similarly good.
