My wife and I stayed at The Royal Hotel for four nights - dinner, bed and breakfast - in mid-October 2023. We had an excellent stay. Service, accommodation and food were all of a very high standard. The cuisine especially was very good. Two slight negatives. Firstly, we found our room very warm at night and so not always great for sleeping (and this, remember, was mid-October). We celebrated our golden wedding anniversary here on a four day break. Very good value with ferry crossing included. Also allowance towards evening meal. Our room was upgraded to a sea view which was lovely. Room was large with seating area. Bed very comfortable. Bathroom clean with beautiful toiletries. Large fluffy towels, robes and slippers. We got married at The Royal and had a reception for 40 people. Everything was above our expectations: the food was exceptional; the staff were warm, welcome and helpful; the bar staff made delicious and varied cocktails; and our room was comfortable with stunning views. We had the perfect day and would not hesitate to recommend The Royal.
