The George & Dragon

Couldn't be faulted. We stopped for lunch today 12/08/25 after shopping in Canterbury, the George and Dragon is the perfect antidote to shopping in Canterbury. The pub was very busy which makes for a good atmosphere but the staff and service could be rushed, not the case here, we had what we agreed was one of the best meals we've ever had in a pub.
Firstly the beer - Harveys was exceptional, the staff were attentive and welcoming. There is a very good menu with lots of options at various price points, we chose the grilled sea bass with chilli noodles and soy sauce. We were told there would be a bit of a wait, that wasn't a problem we were enjoying the delicious beer. When our meal arrived we were delighted, the portions were generous and the taste was tremendous, beautifully cooked and presented, it didn't disappoint the taste was equal to the look.
All in all, at the risk of repetition, one of the best meals we have had in a pub!
