Would definitely be five star but for the very unclear and confusing ordering/collecting system. Many got it wrong, queued in the wrong line on entry and had to be told by customers queuing for collection. High time this was sorted out.
We attended pre theatre . It is a rather formulaic menu, mostly all pre prepared. Smoked salmon starter served without bread. We asked for bread, none was available. Surely a restaurant should be able to provide the most basic of items a bread basket. We feel menu is overpriced for what you get and to charge £5.50 for Sussex Cheese plate, when it was contintental cheese, this was very poor value. Waiter lacking a warm greeting or smile. Good breakfast. May I suggest not putting the butter on top of the hot toast which just turns it to oil. It was unbearably hot. Some fans would have been useful. I asked for black pepper and didn't get any. But overall it was a good breakfast and a peasant experience.
