Checking in and checking out was smooth- friendly welcoming staff. I used the gym and the swimming pool, was very relaxing . But then I was welcomed with the smell of smoke in my room and lack of attention to detail with the cleanliness. Dust on all surfaces, the mirrors were streaky. Shower bass felt slimey to stand on and the bed had a few hairs on it, it wasn’t made up with a duvet only sheets. The carpet needed hoovering . Wasn’t impressed. We stayed at the village hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary as a family as our son absolutely loves this hotel and we always have amazing family time there. On this occasion however our sleep there was quite frankly horrific. I won’t go into too much detail as the situation was not in the hotels control but left myself and my son in tears at points of our stay. I went for a family wedding on 3rd August. From beginning to end everything was perfect but there was 1 member of staff who went above and beyond to ensure our day was everything and so much more.....Nikki Owen (I think) tha k you for doing everything and so much more to ensure mine and my families experience of The Village hotel was everything and more than we was expecting!
