The Sondes Village Shop and Cafe

The 9PL, Sondes Ct, Selling, Faversham

A great lunch sitting on a comfy sofa in front of a well tended log fire. What more could you ask for? Food is vegetarian and truly excellent despite this (!) Definitely slips into the "Quirky" category and I love it. My third visit and I hope very much to come again. Where else could you visit the loo and find yourself vying for space next to a huge model aeroplane?

The Rose & Crown

Rose & Crown, Grove Rd, Perry Wood, Selling, Faversham

Decided to go somewhere different for lunch, ended up at the Rose and Crown. First impressions of the outside a bit grey looking, but to be fair it was a grey sort of day, rainy and the like, imagine it's very pretty nestled in the countryside on a warm sunny day. We went inside, it was very chilly and I kept my coat on for the first half hour, lovely fireplace just no fire, considering it was a grey damp day was expecting to be welcomed by a lovely fire. The bar staff was very nice and helpful.we ordered our food, it came out fairly quickly and was very nice, despite having 2 lots of potato, I had fish pie with mashed potato on and also new potatos, the filling to the pie was tasty but didn't have a lot of sauce with it. I noticed that there were several dogs in the pub and asked if it was ok to bring dogs in and was assured that it was ok. Looks like some lovely walks through the woods outside. All that being said, we would go back, just maybe when it's warmer.Parking: The parking is at the rear of the pub, don't believe it belongs to the pub though although it is free.
