1 High St, Yalding, MaidstoneI have walked past this cute little tea room a few times, but I didn't realize just how incredible the food would be until now. I sat outside (which is lovely for people-watching) and ordered the cheese and ham toastie.
It was honestly one of the best toasties I've ever had. The bread was substantial and chunky—perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. I also had a hot chocolate which was perfect. I’ve never actually been inside, but I will definitely be returning for that toastie!

Teapot Island
Hampstead Ln, MaidstoneFriendly staff, good food and so many teapots. Lovely weir, a great place for outdoor pursuits, canoeing and paddle boarding.
Kid-friendliness: Lovely safe fenced in area with climbing frame and option to do some painting.

The Boathouse, Yalding
Twyford Bridge, Hampstead Lane, Yalding, MaidstoneTeam absolutely nailed the New Years party. It was such a fun, relaxed, and genuinely enjoyable night. Everything felt so well organised without ever feeling formal — just easy, smooth, and full of good vibes.
The food was spot‑on, the music kept the energy just right, and the whole atmosphere made it super easy to meet new people and welcome 2026 in the best way. You could really feel the effort and heart they put into making the night special.
Huge shoutout to them for creating such a memorable celebration.
