I can highly recommend the food which was delicious but I am sad to say the service really let this restaurant down. We were left for ages between courses with only half our dishes cleared away. The waitress had gone off to clear another table and completely forgotten about us. I actually had to go and find a wairess to ask if we could order our dessert. We visited on Sunday lunchtime as a party of 7. I called twice to add to our party & this was done efficiently. On arrival the car park was full. I had a disabled guest and the two disabled spaces were taken by cars with no badges displayed however luckily a small space came available so no harm however if this had not it would have been a long walk from the road and we would have probably thought twice about bothering. Having travelled 200 miles to attend an event nearby. That finished early. I had the opportunity to meet up with a mate who I had not seen for a few years. The Boathouse was the nearest for food and a catch-up. The food and service was better than expected for a pub that serves food Plenty of choice on the menu and freshly made. Plenty of seating both inside and out. And a good atmosphere. With plenty of spacing to have a reasonable conversation without having to raise your voice.
