Light Ash Farm Shop and Cafe
St Michael's Rd, Bilsborrow, PrestonWe went for Saturday brunch after being encouraged by good reviews, including a picture of Queen Elizabeth II exiting the cafe’s main door. Car parking was easy. We took our well behaved small dog with us, but disappointed she wasn’t allowed inside. Most cafes we visit allow her in. There was a cool nip to the air and outside cyclists occupied most tables. Undeterred we sat down at the empty bench table next to the toilet block. The food and drink were very nice. I had poached eggs on granary toast and my partner had a sausage sandwich. I had tea & my partner had cappuccino. Just over £18. We were impressed by the cake display near the till and so purchased a three pieces to take home. Another £13. So far we have only eaten the Victoria sponge and we both thought it was a bit dry.
We will be returning, although Belle will probably be left at home.

The Plough at Eaves
Eaves Ln, Cuddy Hill, PrestonIt’s a fab country pub - oldest in Lancashire - so do remember to duck walking through the doorways!
The food here is really good - plenty of choice and plenty of flavour - and is heartily recommended!

Roebuck
Garstang Rd, Bilsborrow, PrestonAnn and Andy, absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much trouble me with my children on my own. They were so helpful to the point. They even helped cut food and peel apples. I would 100% recommend they made my morning breakfast. So much easier, thank you so much! Definitely looking forward to coming again.... on another note the food was great

Turners Fish & Chips
Garstang Rd, Bilsborrow, PrestonWas in the area on holiday and I first drove past this chippy I was impressed by the artwork on the exterior. I decided that it may be worth a pit stop considering I was on the hunt for some dinner.
And I have to say, it was 100% worth the stop.
Ive tried a lot of fish and chip places in the past and this has to be up there with one of the best. The chips were cooked perfectly, with a satisfying slight crunch to the exterior but a soft and fluffy inside.
The sausages are great quality and we were able to get one freshly battered. Not something I'd normally pick up on, but the batter was fantastic.
Unsure whether the curry sauce is bought in or made on site but every chippy needs to take notes on either how to make it, or where to source it because that was also great.
The staff / family inside were lovely and clearly care about their customers.
I would highly recommend anyone fancying a chippy in the area take note and visit this place. Genuinely one of the nicest I've had.

Owd Nells Canalside Tavern
St Michael's Rd, Bilsborrow, PrestonLovely place shame it took over 20 minutes to queue to place the food order only to be told that most of the meals we wanted they didn't have causing the time to order take even longer. However the deserts were amazing.

Riverside Cafe & Willows Restaurant
Barton Grange Garden Centre, Garstang Rd, Brock, PrestonWhat's happening with the Afternoon Tea at the Willows Restaurant? Is someone on a cost cutting drive? Usually there is so much food that you need a Take Home box but this time there was just enough....3 1/4 sliced sandwiches, small cup of soup...no pie or sausage roll, a scone, butter, jam and cream and 4 tiny cakes...y friend ate everything but one tiny cake. I asked for a box for my scone simply because I was too busy chatting to eat. I didn't think it was worth £16....an Afternoon Tea is supposed to be a sumptuous feast...it used to be. Quite disappointed. I'll be going to Scorton Barn in future and paying £18...for that you get tons. Staff absolutely lovely, everything tasted lovely but it felt a bit sparse
