If you drive past this place, you would think it was another country pub. On the outside, it gives you the Tolkien Trail walk WOW, goes right past its car park. I didn't count the number of cars, it was jammers, a good size. Then you walk in the place, greeted and seated, ready to eat. I couldn't find the 6th star. I think the other reviews on here are a bit harsh! We had a lovely stay and I would definitely recommend. We had a nice big room, a delicious evening meal and a hearty breakfast in the morning. The place has lots of character and views that I could see from my room. The local village is super with lots of walks. We will be back.

Beautiful location, gorgeous surrounding views, decent sized car park, plenty of tables and dogs welcome. Unfortunately awful service. Staff stood around chatting ignoring our table. We waited a good 30 mins before someone finally came to take our food order. I personally went to the bar to let them know we were ready to place our order after 20 minutes of waiting, the lady rolled her eyes and snapped "yeah in 1 minute" , a further 10 minutes later someone came over.
