We booked this for a meal with friends. The venue is called ‘the boathouse pub and kitchen’. As we arrived the venue looked lovely and appears a great pub but as we walked in to tell the host we had arrived we was told they no longer serve food. All over the venue outside it boasts a seasonal menu food as well as allowing us to book online. If you don’t serve food don’t advertise you do. Right next to the canal, a great stop on your way into or out of Wigan, prices aren't cheap but it's worth it for the view and it's always a good pint. New to the area we were exploring and decided to call in to the Boathouse for lunch. We were disappointed to find they no longer served food, despite numerous recommendations. We ordered drinks and went outside to enjoy the sun. There were a large group of noisy cyclists with their kids, thankfully they left shortly after we arrived.
